Financial Peace

Average Credit Card debt of Americans….15,762$
Average auto loan debt…..27,191$
Average mortgage debt…168,614$
Student loans debt….43,141$
God meant for us to have life more abundantly.  If you feel your life is being robbed of joy due to financial issues, if you and your significant other cannot see eye to eye, if you have suffered a financial set back and need a new plan, if the arguing about money has you on the edge….

  • Starting January 5-March 8, Financial Peace Seminar will be offered at Gray Church every Sunday afternoon from 4pm-6pm.
  • Childcare provided.
  • Will not meet Super bowl Sunday.

This is a proven way of approaching money that helps eliminate the stress, it teaches us how to talk about money, it gives us a way to live within our means and find peace.

The packets for the 9 week seminar are 90$.  If that is a stretch for you, talk to pastor Amy.  Pastor Amy and seminar leader Tracy Cassel will be making rounds to Sunday School classes soon to show the packet and answer questions.
In the meantime, email Pastor Amy

Looking for a way to reach out to our community?

Looking for a way to reach out to our community?  Create a “Holiday Kit” for our neighbors which they will receive through the church pantry!  The ‘kit’ will include the following items: Pumpkin Pie Filling, Pie Crust, Stuffing, Cranberry, Bread Mix, and Gravy.
Please drop off your Holiday Kit at the church office!

UMW Fundraiser

The United Methodist Women have RADA cutlery and other items for you to purchase.  There is a poster and a catalog in the ramp area that will has descriptions and information about all their items.  If you have any questions, please ask Sandra Denney, Debbie Russell, Sue Hall, Jill Flaugher or Lynice Broyles or email
Our hope is that we can help make some improvements to the projector so the sanctuary screen can be easier to read.

Bright Spots in our church family

College Care Packs

In both the Fall and Spring our faithful volunteers shop for, pack up, and send out care packages to our college age students across the country.  This year the team has packed up a colorful, playful, and practical assortment of items to bring a little joy and needed fuel for their push towards finals.   Wool socks for the chilly days ahead, gift cards to feed the belly, and some air freshener for well… all will be delivered to the doors and dorm rooms of our young adults.  Your generosity allows our community of faith to extend these offerings, so thank you; and a special “thank you” to our team of volunteers😊

Preschool News

Our Gray Preschool has been recognized by the Governors office!  Gray Preschool is now a “Golden Sneaker” facility.  What is a “Golden Sneaker” facility?  The Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) “Gold SneakerInitiative” contributes to the TDH mission to protect, promote and improve the health and prosperity of people in Tennessee.   Gold Sneaker was developed in 2008 to enhance policy related to health and wellness within licensed childcare facilities across Tennessee.

Bright Spots in our church family

Our young adult Sunday School Class (The Welcomed) raised 1204$ toward new playground equipment for our preschool!

During Trunk R Treat, our preschool hosted an open house with fall festival games.  The day after one room became full and now has a waiting list.  Our preschool staff are running to catch up with the success!

Ways you can shine with us!

Every week a member of our congregation reads to our preschoolers.  It takes about 20 minutes.  Just pick a day M-Th and show up anytime between 9am and 10am.  20 from your day can make a child smile!  See Pastor Amy.

Food Pantry Open

Our food pantry is now open from 10 am to noon Mondays and Fridays.

If you can volunteer to help distribute food and talk with our neighbors, we would love to have your help!  To volunteer please contact Pastor Bryan at

Life Groups

Big Picture – What Are They? Life Groups are simply another venue for you to experience the richness of community that you were created for.  From the beginning, God the Father has existed in community alongside the Son and Holy Spirit.  Life Groups are a reflection of that ‘togetherness.’ Life Groups generally consist of 6-12 people that seek to gather weekly or bi-weekly to encourage and support one another, identify and use God’s gifts in the world, and both challenge and grow one another in becoming more like Jesus.
How Do I Know Which Life Group Is The Best Fit For Me? Life Groups are defined by a shared interest, stage of life, gender etc…  You have the option to choose which LG best suits you (see Life Group Breakfast Fair details below)!
When/Where Do Life Groups Meet? Generally, the LG leaders will determine the when/where before the initial gathering; however, each Life Group has the capacity to make desired or necessary changes.
What Is the Life Expectancy of a Life Group?  The current plan is for Life Groups to remain intact from Sept. 2019 through Sept. 2020.  Life Groups will be added/subtracted and relaunched annually.
What About Childcare? Individual Life Groups are empowered to creatively work out childcare through the group itself.
How Are Life Groups Different Than Sunday School?  Life Groups and Sunday School both concern themselves with balancing the Great Commission and the Great Commandment.  Primarily, what distinguishes a Life Group is its flexibility to meet beyond Sunday mornings, having a cap on the number participating for purposes of intimacy and accountability, and some sort of shared/common life denominator.
